Annvie's - Smoothie d'automne à la citrouille

In the fall, pumpkins, patty pans and other squashes are pretty common in US stores, much like Raclette and Reblochon cheeses are in France during the same period. I can tell that it is easier to find squashes than French cheeses here. Pumpkin can be found in a lot of dishes (cookies, pasta, soup, pie, etc.), which is why I would like to try several original recipes with pumpkin like this pumpkin smoothie. If you like pumpkin, this is the place to be!

Annvie's - Smoothie d'automne à la citrouille

Ingredients for 1 glass of smoothie

  • 8-10 ice cubes or crushed ice
  • 1 cup of almond milk (or another type of milk)
  • 1 apple
  • ½ cup of cooked pumpkin (without the peel nor the seeds)
  • ½ teaspoon Pumpkin Pie spices
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Preparation

Steam a small pumpkin chopped in large pieces (with the peel but without the seeds). Once the pumpkin is ready and has cooled down, peel it. The pumpkin is easier to peel once cooked.

Wash and deseed the apple and chop it into quarters.

In a blender, start by making crushed ice. Then add the apple, the pumpkin pulp, the milk, the spices, and the maple syrup. Close the blender and mix it all together. It’s ready.

This fall pumpkin smoothie is not too sweet nor too spicy. It’s simply delicious.
