One of my best friends encouraged me to make jewelry and with good reason! She asks me regularly to make custom jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelets, etc.) for herself or her family and friends. She is so passionate about it that she even bought a nice armoire just for her jewelry! It’s always a pleasure to create jewelry for her, as this silver necklace. I think it’s a beautiful proof of confidence and friendship, and I thank her!
Once I made a silver necklace for her. She chose the materials when we were together in Brooklyn in a shop dedicated to pearls and jewelry (I will have to write a separate article on the best places where to find beads to make jewelry!). She chose a chain and silver pendants that evoke the delightful universe of books (as in old libraries, grimoires, etc.) with various motifs, including a book, a quill, a key, and leaves, intertwined all together. No doubt nothing too complicated to make? It was only necessary to find a good balance and for that purpose, I had to add a few elements or my personal touch so to say. I like to tell the story that accompanies the birth of a custom-made piece of jewelry. Did you enjoy reading this piece? Would you also like to have a few tips how to make your own jewelry?
